19th Century Irish Lithographs

6:00 PM
Irish Cultural Centre of New England, 200 New Boston Drive, Canton

John P. McGuire, lecturer, engineer and businessman, gave a presentation on 19th century lithographs in Irish/American history.

The talk delved into the historic context of lithographs and prints that provided 19th century Irish immigrants to America a cultural link to the homeland. The images often hung in the living rooms or parlors of immigrant families as a source of pride in their culture, history, religion and race.

The event was co-sponsored by the ICCNE, the Éire Society of Boston and the Boston Beara Society, and included dinner.
