2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Harvey Wheeler Community Center, 1276 Main Street, Concord
The Éire Society of Boston hosted a talk by Maine political journalist Doug Rooks. The event was free and open to the public.
Rooks shared his perspective on the public and private life of Senator George Mitchell. He drew from a long career of interviews with the senator, and delved into Mitchell's role in facilitating the Northern Ireland Peace Accord, which culminated in the Good Friday Agreement of 1998. Copies of Rooks's book, Statesman: George Mitchell and the Art of the Possible, were available for sale.
